The Belize Postal Service has suspended all goods shipments to the United States due to new U.S. customs regulations that eliminate the long-standing duty-free exemption for low-value packages. This change, effective August 29, 2025, requires all goods entering the U.S. to be subject to customs duties from the first dollar. The Belize Postal Service has made an executive decision to stop accepting packages bound for the U.S. until further notice. ****The Universal Post Union is actively working to resolve the issues and find a compliant solution to resume normal operations.
